How do I open a .vim file in VIM for Windows?

If you are new to VIM for Windows you can open one of the provided sample files to view the rendered project and explore the BIM data.

Opening .vim Files

  1. Open VIM for Windows.

  2. On the Welcome screen, choose one of the following options:

  • Click on one of the four sample .vim files at the bottom of the Welcome screen.

  • Click Open and then click a .vim file from the Recent list.

  • Click Open and then click Your Computer. In the Open VIM File dialog, locate and select a .vim file, and then click Open.

You can also double-click on a .vim file in Windows Explorer to open it directly.
