We didn't think sales and financial reporting software could reliably show detected clashes in Autodesk Revit BIM content. But heck, we were curious and did it anyway!
If you're interested, follow these steps to give it a whirl yourself in a few steps:
Prerequisites
We'll need a few things to get started. Follow these handy steps to get ready
Make a VIM
Get that VIM into the SQL database
Connect the SQL database to Power BI with the VIM webGL Visual
Detecting Clashes
While we already created a VIM and indexed it into a SQL Database, now we get to run vimtool.exe again to detect clashes and store them in a vimprojx file.
Pick the preset
Insert the VIM project file (where clash info lives) in the sql DB
Seeing the results in Power BI!
