If we encounter a problem that we cannot resolve, you may need to send us the log files so we can do a deep technical dive and identify the source of the issue. To find your VIM log files for the VIM for Windows application:
Make sure your hidden folder are visible in Windows Explorer
Navigate to C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\Temp\VIM\Desktop\Logs
Windows will take %UserName% and insert your Windows username. Alternatively, you can enter the following address in Windows Explorer and press enter: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp\VIM\Desktop\Logs
Gather the files in a ZIP file and send them to us
Revit Exporter
If you are experiencing an anomaly with the Revit Exporter, you can find the log files here:
C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\Temp\VIM\Revit Exporter\Logs\VimRevitExporter-year.log
Windows will take %UserName% and insert your Windows username and year is the Revit version number.
Alternatively, you can type the following address in Windows Explorer and press enter: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp\VIM\Revit Exporter\Logs
